Our RouteMasters

RML2699

RML2699, the first of our two London Routemasters, was purchased straight from service in 2004 and was our first vintage bus. Originally purchased with a view to restore it and sell it on, Austin didn’t have the heart to let it go and so it stayed as part of the family. It’s been carefully restored to early 2000’s condition.

RML2472

The second Routemaster is RML2472, and has been restored to a more traditional livery, in keeping with the year it was built. No-one knows Routemasters like us (our sister company, Bus Doctor, even restores other people’s Routemasters for them), so we had the advantage of knowing exactly where to look to source original parts to maintain the character and integrity of this iconic bus.

Our Black Cab

Our black London Cab is a Fairway Driver from 1993. It was owned by Austin’s Dad, who had it from new. Having been lovingly restored to immaculate condition, it was a natural progression for this vehicle to join our heritage fleet. Having a London Fairway Driver with one owner from new is practically unheard of. The London Cab is ideal for taking the bride, father of the bride and bridesmaids to the church, or is a lovely way for a small group to arrive at a party or prom in style.

The Maltese Bedford

The Maltese bus was originally a wartime Bedford QL truck. Sold by the war department in 1958, the body was removed and the bus body built on it. It remained in service in Malta until 2008, and was purchased by Austin in 2009. This bus was fully restored in Malta at a cost in excess of £30,000 and was one of the last Maltese buses that was restored whilst the buses were still in commission. The bus features hand painted details, and contains parts kindly donated by fellow enthusiasts. It’s by far the best example of a traditional Maltese bus in route bus colours to exist, both in the UK and in Malta. The Maltese bus is not available to carry passengers, but can be used for static hire, promotional events or film work.
